Some of the best accomodations in Acapulco are south of the downtown Acapulco and closer to the airport. The beaches are also a little nicer further south. Some of these resorts can be very expensive, so it is worth checking for with the airlines for air and hotel packages or promotional rates from the hotel. The prices can double during Christmas, New Years and Easter, since that is a popular time to vacation in Acapulco for Mexicans.

- Las Brisas is an Acapulco institution and one of the top hotel. It's perched up on the hills overlooking the Acapulco Bay. You can't miss it - everything is pink, including the over 150 pink jeeps that rented exlusively to hotel guests. Each room has a private or semi-private pool. - The Camino Real Acapulco Diamante is probably the best modern resorts in Acapulco with spacious rooms with balconies. The Camino Real is set in a small and calm bay called Puero Marques just south of Acapulco Bay. The hotel is family friendly and water is usually safer for children to play than other beaches in the area. 744.435.1010
- The Hyatt Regency Acauplco is one of the largest hotels in Acapulco with a beatiful freeform pool and a great beach right in from of the hotel. The hotel has live music most evenings. Another good option for staying in Acapulco can be to rent a private villa. There are many beautful ones just south of the city on the hills and they usually have a pool. One of these vacation rentals is sometimes less expensive for a large family or groups. Many of these villa rentals will include a maid to help clean daily and sometimes even cook. If you are staying for more than a week in Acapulco, you might find the vacation rental cheaper and more relaxing.
