Getting around
You can walk to almost all spots around Ixtapa. If you are staying at any of the major hotels in Ixtapa, your are definitely walking distance for the nightlife in Ixtapa and a short cab ride from the more local attractions in Zihuatanejo. There are plenty of taxis, which for a fixed fee, will take you where they want to go. The fare for Ixtapa to Zihuatanejo is about $4.
Flights
International flights go to Zihuatanejo (ZIH). Many US airlines have added direct flight from the us, including American Airline, Continental and Alaska Air. Air Canada also offers direct flight from Canada . Otherwise, everything goes through Mexico City . From there it is a 20 minute cab ride into Ixtapa. You should take a taxi or a shared van from the yellow booth at the airport, so you don't get ripped off. The prices are posted.
