Mexico Vacations - Los Cabos, Mexico (Baja)

Los Cabos is at the southern most tip of Baja California. The name refers to two towns that are side by side at the tip of Baja California: Cabo San Lucas and San Jose del Cabo. Los Cabos are a very popular destination for US tourists because of it's proximity to the US and it's relatively cheap flights. It's less than 2 1/2 hours from LA or Dallas. The water is not quite as warm as you will find it in Ixtapa further south.

Los Cabos is known for spectacular resorts, world class golf courses and sport fishing. If you travel only a little north on either side of the Baja peninsula, you will soon find yourself on deserted beaches. It's the perfect town for a romantic getaway because of the spectacular resorts and how quickly you can get away from everything. Los Cabos also has one of the most romantic getaway resorts called Las Ventanas - it's very high end, but spectacular.

If you plan to get out of your resort frequently, you might want to consider renting a car. It will give you some more flexibility. Of course, there are plenty of resorts in Los Cabos that have enough to keep you busy for your entire vacation.

As with most high end resort towns, you will need to hunt around for good vacation packages. It is unlikely that you will find a good hotel and flight that is cheaper than a vacation package.
