Speed dating is one of the most successful ways to meet people that lead to good dates and relationships. Wouldn't you like to meet all the eligible people at a bar for a couple of minutes and then make a decision about who you liked and ask them on a date? That's exactly what happens in speed dating. It's an organized event with an equal number of men and women. You then get to meet every potential date for a few minutes and then you rotate to the next person. This way you aren't stuck with someone you don't like and you get a sense of whether this person could be a good match. Plus you get to meet a ton of new people.

The key with speed dating is you actually meet the person and not just flip through photographs they carefully chose and a profile that might or might not be in character. When you meet someone in person, even if only for a few minutes in speed dating, you do get a good sense of what kind of person this is and whether you would like to spend more time with them.

The final step of speed dating is the selection process. You submit your selection of people you would like to see again. If the other person also has you maked as a potentially good match, your numbers are exchanged and you are set up. If the other person doesn't feel the same way about you, at least you know and it's done. Similarly your number will go be given out to anyone you didn't like.

Even though speed dating is only a couple of minute (usually between 6-8 minutes), you can convey a good amount of information. You should come prepared with how you like to present yourself and then let the conversation take you away from your plan. You don't need to cover every topic in speed dating. You just need to hit a common nerve. Once you do, just have fun. If you're having fun, the other person is most likely also having fun and will select you for a date.

The great thing about speed dating is that it doesn't take a lot of time and it can be very fun. Most people that have speed dated think is was fun and a good number of them left with a potential date.
